Vendicari Tour
We will visit the natural reserve of Vendicari, one of the most important nature reserves in Sicily. An excursion between sandy dunes, Mediterranean vegetation, great variety of birds and a lot of history, since the time of the Greeks!, Welcome to a natural paradise.
Pick up at 08:30 – drop off at 17:00
Direction Siracusa, Noto, Vendicari Reserve.
Entrance to the reserve, with map and description of Vendicari.
First stop in the shed for the vision of the many birds present in the two Pantani, such as pink flamingos, white and gray heron, wild goose and cormorants ..
Towards the Swabian tower and tuna fishery, in the path we could admire the fauna and flora of the reserve, Mediterranean vegetation and vegetation of the sand dunes.
Visit to the tonnara and the adjacent museum, beautiful description of the “mattanza”, the ancient tuna fishing.
Walking in the archaeological area, ancient evidence dating back to the Bronze Age.
Stop relaxing in the beautiful golden beach and crystal clear sea of Vendicari, let’s change and take a bath.
Stop for lunch in a charming location with tasting of local products at km0 (included in the price).
Returning to Catania, stop for coffee in Ortigia (Siracusa), where we could admire Greek and Baroque architecture.
